Halloween!

Hi everybody! I’m going to talk about Halloween. As everyone know, Halloween is one of the world’s oldest holidays(about 2.000 years more or less) however, nowdays it is celebrated by more people in more countries than ever before, All Hallows' Eve is a celebration to take place in a number of countries on 31 October, the day before of ‘’All Saints' Day’’

This event has not always been called ‘’halloween’’ This name is a contracted form of "All Hallows Eve’’" eventually, it became abbreviated to  "Hallowe'en" and then "Halloween."

Aforetime,Halloween usted to be celebreted in english countries, in Spain some people hadn’t hear talk about it,nonetheless now it become something popular and you can see all types of halloween decorations in some houses, costumes… we also can see so many movies about Halloween, (these movies are an American horror franchise that consists of the character of Michael Myers who was committed to a sanitarium for the murder of his elder sister) So,we can say that this tradition has became something normal in almost all contries.

By the other hand,we also can mention some typical Halloween activities, as an example: trick-or-treating,parties,decorate pumpkins(it became a very popular Halloween decoration a few hundred years ago) ,watching all types of horror films and make costumes: it is the time for little kidsto take to the streets asking for sweets and scaring one another person.

To finish we can talk about the origins of Halloween: Halloween’s origins date back  2,000 years ago, at the time of the Celts: they celebrated their new year on November 1, this day announced the end of the summer and the beggining of the cold Winter. Celts believed that on 31th October ghosts of the dead returned to earth: this night was associated with the horror and the human death and During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, made offerings… so, halloween is much more than just a time of celebretions and supertitions; in fact, this tradition has a rich and interesting history.
